NZ (Ben, Maria, and Jen) beat Canada by 4-1 in the quarterfinals this morning (Athens time) proposing that the voting age should be lowered.

They are in the semis against Singapore who beat Australia by 3-2.

The other semi is between England and Greece, a replay of Washington 2008…

Go NZ!!

UPDATE: Topic for semi is “That dictatorships should not receive international aid”. New Zealand is proposing.

Everyone is telling me how great the team is and some say even better than last year. I saw them against Wales yesterday at Delphi – NZ was very polished and professional. I was certain they’d won and was not surprised at most of the judges’ coments.

Beating Singapore, coached by the skillful Geetha Creffield, would be a huge coup. I wanted to go to the Old Parliament Building to watch the semi final but for reasons outlined in my blog, I’m otherwise occupied at present…..
