Applications Open for Auckland, Waikato and CNI Coaches

The New Zealand Schools’ Debating Council are pleased to announce that applications are now open to coach the Auckland, Waikato and CNI Regional teams.
Auckland
The Russell McVeagh Auckland Regional Debating Championships is on Saturday 25 – Sunday 26 March this year, and we need to appoint 1 – 2 coaches to coach each of the two Regional teams.
The general requirements of coaching the teams are as follows:
  • Attendance at Auckland Regionals on Saturday 25 March – Sunday 26 March
  • Attendance at Nationals: Friday 26th May – Monday 29th May
  • Training your team: Generally you should aim to train the team for a few weekends between Regionals in March and Nationals in May, but it is at your discretion as to how you arrange this.
As such, if you are interested in applying to coach, please email your application to [email protected] by 5pm on Sunday 12 February with:
  • Whether you are interested in coaching
  • Whether you are applying as an individual, have a preference as to who you coach with, or are applying as a combination.
  • Anything else you would like us to know in order to inform the decision (e.g. coaching, debating, adjudicating, familiarity with the schools style).
The selection of Auckland coaches will be decided by a sub-committee consisting of Tim Bain (Wellington/Canterbury), Paul Smith (Auckland) and Liam Rawlings (Auckland).
Waikato
The Russell McVeagh Waikato Regional Debating Championships is on Saturday 11th March this year, and we need to appoint 1 – 2 coaches for the Regional team.
The general requirements of being a coach for the team is as follows:
  • Attendance at Waikato Regionals on Saturday 11th March
  • Attendance at Nationals: Friday 26th May – Monday 29th May
  • Training your team: Generally you should aim to train the team for a few weekends between Regionals in March and Nationals in May, but it is at your discretion as to how you arrange this.
As such, if you are interested in applying to either coach or Sunday 11th February with:
  • Whether you are interested in coaching or assistant coaching
  • Whether you are applying as an individual, have a preference as to who you coach with, or are applying as a combination.
  • Anything else you would like us to know in order to inform the decision (e.g. coaching, debating, adjudicating, familiarity with the schools style).
Please note that Council reserves the right to split a coaching combination application if necessary according to the volume and nature of applications.
The selection of Waikato coaches will be decided by a sub-committee consisting of myself (Auckland), Tim Bain (Wellington/Canterbury) and Josh Baxter (Auckland).
CNI

The general requirements of coaching the team is as follows:
  • Attendance at CNI Regionals on Saturday 11 March – Sunday 12 March
  • Attendance at Nationals: Friday 26th May – Monday 29th May
  • Training your team: Generally you should aim to train the team for a few weekends between Regionals in March and Nationals in May, but it is at your discretion as to how you arrange this.
As such, if you are interested in applying to coach, please email your application to [email protected] by 5pm on Sunday 12 February with:
