The New Zealand Schools’ Debating Council are pleased to announce that applications are now open to coach the Hawkes Bay and Northland Regional teams.
Hawkes Bay
The Russell McVeagh Hawkes Bay Regional Debating Championships is on Saturday 18 – Sunday 19 March this year, and we need to appoint coaches for the Regional team.
The general requirements of coaching the team is as follows:
- Attendance at Hawkes Bay Regionals on Saturday 18 March – Sunday 19 March
- Attendance at Nationals: Friday 26th May – Monday 29th May
- Training your team: Generally you should aim to train the team for a few weekends between Regionals in March and Nationals in May, but it is at your discretion as to how you arrange this.
As such, if you are interested in applying to coach, please email your application to [email protected] by 5pm on Sunday 19 February with:
- Whether you are interested in coaching
- Whether you are applying as an individual, have a preference as to who you coach with, or are applying as a combination.
- Anything else you would like us to know in order to inform the decision (e.g. coaching, debating, adjudicating, familiarity with the schools style).
The selection of CNI coaches will be decided by a sub-committee consisting of Nick Cross (Wellington), Jodie O’Neill (Wellington), Kevin Moar (Wellington) and Sam O’Grady (Hawkes Bay).
Northland
The Russell McVeagh Waikato Regional Debating Championships is on Sunday 19th March this year, and we need to appoint coaches for the Regional team.
The general requirements of being a coach for the team is as follows:
- Attendance at Northland Regionals on Sunday 19th March
- Attendance at Nationals: Friday 26th May – Monday 29th May
- Training your team: Generally you should aim to train the team for a few weekends between Regionals in March and Nationals in May, but it is at your discretion as to how you arrange this.
As such, if you are interested in applying to coach, please email your application to [email protected] by 5pm on Sunday 19 February with:
- Whether you are interested in coaching or assistant coaching
- Whether you are applying as an individual, have a preference as to who you coach with, or are applying as a combination.
- Anything else you would like us to know in order to inform the decision (e.g. coaching, debating, adjudicating, familiarity with the schools style).
Please note that Council reserves the right to split a coaching combination application if necessary according to the volume and nature of applications.
The selection of Northland coaches will be decided by a sub-committee consisting of Hamish Saunders (Auckland), Lucy Ellingham (Northland) and Jesse Prendergast (Northland).
