‘The Press’ Schools Debating Tournament has been held since 1969. It has been the Canterbury Regional Schools’ Debating Championship since 1988, and Canterbury has competed in the National Champs since then. For many years the teams were known as “The Press” Canterbury Regional Debating Teams.
